I had been denied the wolf was a little more intelligent than I gave him credit for and that was okay. My failure just meant I lost that individual battle not the war. Plus unlike my father right now I wasn’t out to just out right murder any canibal I saw, though father was right, their ilk only brought sadness to those around them. I know they few those they hunt like how I view prey, but while I know those prey animals had family that was how the food chain worked. It was in our blood to hunt the plant eating species, it was the food chain, they knew it, we knew it, however it was unnatural for wolves to eat their own kind. Why was it even something that they must do? Were they made differently? I know that it does not do well to eat your own, mentally it can damage one the longer they do it. I don’t think I ever seen it one come back to being normal after the go down that path, I wondered if they can be converted back to being normal… That isn’t my business now though. There was actually a reason I picked him.

He was flitting about our borders so often, then his scent was mucked around with the scent of the female I had been tracking for days. I didn’t exactly know they were related, but I knew he had something to do with her vanishing scent trail from the Tundra. My ears flicked slightly thinking about him, the very short time I knew him. For I did know him, he joined under Aranck’s rule, though he joined just as it ended. I couldn’t remember his name but I didn’t forget faces or scents, and his I knew. I knew he might recognize me when he saw me, my scent was covered well when I lived in Iromar, and I lived under a false name which I would continue to give him so long as Iromar and Diveen were on bad terms. He apparently knew I was lurking around. I hear his voice and find it odd that he trailed me back after my failed attempt. If he thinks I was prey, easy or not, he was wrong.

I wasn’t exactly hiding myself, but I hear him tease and call me. The title was more appropriate than he may have thought. After all when I wore my disguise I used clay to dye my fur brown-red, honestly not far from his own pelt color. Right now though I looked as I normally do, my white fur brilliant in the sun, my red angel marks, the shield on my chest then my cloak showing my lineage in the purest manner. I am not sure how many angels remained that are marked and know what they mean, but I was a protector as my shield showed and I was also a sneak and a thief as my topline gave me.

”Didn’t realise it was a charade.” I call to his taunt coming from the brush. My body is ready for an attack, but something told me unless he was the violent type I might not have to deal with that. Maybe I could even get some information, though I am not one that wouldn’t give some in return. ”Does Iromar have the wolfess? The one that murdered the prince?” I asked plainly. Perhaps it was better that we were here and not in Diveen, though I guess in Diveen I could have a little back up, but I trusted myself, I think he is the curious type. After all he followed me here after trying to steal him. Perhaps he wanted to know why?
