Fir Chilis is the name given to the dense string of forested land that fills much of Blossom Forest. There are two different populations, depending on where in the land you are. To the north lays the deciduous forest, full of maples, oaks, birches, and beeches. To the south lay a coniferous forest full of pines and firs. No matter where you are, the trees shelter you from the sun and the rain and the snow. Take care not to get lost in the woods however - you may never find your way out. There are other dangerous here too - predators waiting for their own prey. While the land is prosperous they do not pose too much of a threat, but whenever famine or drought hits, they will attack anything... even other Putnar.

Those looking to hunt will find the forests well stocked - there are white-tailed deer, turkeys, red squirrels, chipmunks, mermots, and moose.

just a slave unto the night

The scents of the world were an easy thing to lose oneself in, especially for one with as keen a nose as Harlow, and with the summer season in full swing there was certainly an abundance of unfamiliar scents in this new land for him follow. And certainly it was new, he was sure for others as well as himself - the same way that Abendrot was new, or rather Graes Waegholm, Harlow mentally corrected himself. There was so much to be discovered and explored - where the nearby packs resided now amidst the change and where the best hunting grounds were, for example.

Though Harlow had began his search with the intention of seeking his way to a higher vantage point to scout out his nearby surroundings, he instead found himself straying deeper beneath the canopy of trees, guided by his nose. He found he was content with this decision to venture into the forest, for the dense canopies offered welcome shade and relief from the summer sun on such a day. However, the forest's myriad of aromas assaulted his senses and making it difficult to decide which scents he wished to follow, if he truly followed any at all. The male took mental note of where he crossed the scent trails of other predators, cautiously giving the areas of their highest concentration an ample berth, but continued on his journey of exploration virtually unfazed.

The ebon toned wolf had stopped for a brief moment to investigate the fresh trail of a squirrel when the feminine voice snatched his attention. He froze in mid-step with one front paw poised just above the forest floor as saffron gaze turned to locate the other wolf. He'd went stiff for just a moment, uncertain of what to expect from a stranger; he held his tail in a position level with his haunches, eyes wide and ears erect until his gaze rested upon the silver-coated she-wolf. Inclining his head in a curious manner, he regarded her and her posture keenly for any signs of aggression but seeing none, relaxed his stance. "Hello, friend." He returned in a smooth baritone, acknowledging her genial demeanor towards him and in turn showing that he held no ill intentions towards her in the reply. He turned and took several steps in her direction, rich saffron-hued eyes both curious and distinctly surprised in his initial appraisal, her silvery gray coat contrasting with the dimmer lighting of much of the forest around them. The male spoke again after just a second's pause. "You're the first I've seen in these woods. I'm Harlow, who are you?" He held his distance at a respectful measure, but had come close enough to allow a better look and so that conversation would be easier than across a distance.
