Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Being back in Moladian after so long away was a new experience. He felt like he was shaking off the cobwebs of an old existence and stepping back in time. But oh how things had changed. Mostly him. He left a growing pup and came back a full grown male. He wasn't a beast by any means but he was average enough size, his build athletic and muscular enough to get the job done. But it was his mind that had changed the most. He was mostly quiet and responsive as a child. He watched and learned but didn't show a lot of personality. He was sure it grated on Enderly's nerves to have a son that didn't give him much in the way of reactions for him to know if he was even all there in the head or not. He was definitely there, just...numb. In a way he felt like he'd spent much of his childhood in a catatonic state. He remembered things like playing with his bigger brother Silas. He remembered seeing the way Enderly looked at Silas, always accusing their mother of having an affair, announcing to the world that he was definitely not his son.

He seemed to think Loki was his though. Eris tolerated the hassling with a grace that Loki noticed as well. She had her moments when her temper would flare and she would really let Enderly have it but otherwise it was almost like she liked the attention, even if it was unncessary jealousy. She used to talk to him and his brother when Enderly wasn't around. She told them he was only that way because another had hurt him, rejected his affections and played with his feelings like he was a toy. Even then, Loki didn't think it excused Enderly. Then there was the day Enderly called them all together as a family and said he wanted to have some fun. He took them out of the den and found a strange girl by herself, playing with her head, making her think something big and bad was about to happen and that her and her imprint might die. The poor girl had looked so terrified. Loki could remember it to this day.

He wasn't sure how to feel at the time. Should he laugh about it like Enderly obviously did or should he be disgusted by his father's behavior? He wasn't sure. Over time he pulled away from his parents and found his own way and that's how he ended up outside of Moladian. But now it was high time to come back. Maybe he'd even run into his brother Silas, or one of his other half siblings. Maybe even the half brother Underridge that Enderly used to rant about all the time. He called him crazy, off his rocker. Loki never got to meet him but he remembered wanting to as a pup, just to see if the stories were true. His father did tell some pretty big stories, after all. After remembering the things his mother used to tell him when Enderly wasn't around, he saw things as they truly were. His father was a player. He'd hopped around from girl to girl looking for happiness and only getting litters out of the deal. He stayed with Eris for a little while then he probably moved on at some point and found another girl to warm his side at night.

Loki neither hated him nor did he feel particular love for the wolf who helped bring him into being. He just knew that he needed to find some kind of link to his past. He needed to know that it had happened, that he had existed here at some point in his life. Some sort of validation was required. He wandered into the free lands that his family used to inhabit. Here is where he was born. He could still smell the sweet pine sap off the trees that he and his brother Silas used to play under. It was as good a place as any to start. The last thing he remembered was his father was supposed to be heading to the pack Diveen. He didn't know if he made it there or changed his mind or what but it was as good a guess as any. Maybe he'd run across a Diveen pack wolf or something. He found a nice rise in the landscape where his body was able to blend into the shadow coming off the trunk of the large trees around him.

Here, he made his stand and threw back his head, sending up a call he wasn't sure anyone would recognize because he never really had a voice as a child. But he certainly did now. And he was ready to let all of Moladian hear the trickster roar.
