The boy seemed a bit overly sweet for her tastes. But then again, he was rather young. No doubt his rather happy-go-lucky aunt had something to do with it. Of course, she didn't know his parents either. Perhaps she knew them visually, having seen them in passing, but definitely not by name. Matianak decided she would do her best to simply ignore Samia. Triton was quite excited to have both of them near, so she wouldn't force the other woman away. Yet.
"You can Mat. My full name is a bit of a mouthful," she said, giving the young wolf a smile. She did not mind that shortened version of it. Matty seemed to pleasant for her. So, a compromise. Most who did use her name used her full name though. Let them deal with the mouthful. Triton was an exception, young as he was. A grown wolf could handle it, and why shouldn't they? Their mental capacities were supposed to be greater. She almost was going to force his name out of him, but the light colored female had provided it for her.
Matianak flashed a grin, albeit not an overly friendly looking one, towards Samia. While clearly she was poking fun at Triton, could there have been a small hint of jealousy there? The grey female was tempted to press at it. And she did, "Perhaps it his way to create a new friendship. Not that he needs to solidify anything with you, Samia. You are, after all, his aunt." Her padded along moving at an easy pace that Triton could easily keep up with.
"Tell me about Charlie, young Triton. He is no doubt one of your sea-faring companions?" she asked. Trivial as it was, she was building up trust here, trying to determine how easily manipulated the boy could be. Matianak cast another glance towards Samia with her questioning about family. "My father is the pack's Thorn, for the time being at least," the woman said, though her words fell somewhat flat. As much as she deigned for her father's approval, he drifted more and more towards Umbra, something she intended to remedy in the future. For now, she was biding her time doing menial things, like walking the beach with Glorall's youngest member, not to include any pups that might be born this spring.
