At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

S E R A P H I N A

Sera’s found herself jumpy since the battle with the vampires. She knows that they can’t enter the packlands because of the Tempests living here, but her nerves don’t seem to understand. Night finds her curling tighter around her younger litter and warning the older one to be careful. They’re too old for her to protect from the world anymore, but that doesn’t mean she has to stop trying to keep them safe altogether. After all, no matter how big they get, they’ll always be her babies. Sera’s just glad that the younger ones are still easy to keep an eye on, though it won’t be too long before they’re exploring all day and giving her mini-heart attacks. Already they’re straying further and further from the den and Sera is letting them, knowing that her freedom had been what she’d relished most about her youth. It’s been harder to go explore as she pleases for a while now, but she tried nonetheless.

Today is no exception. Sera leaves the pups with the promise that she will be back and tells them to stay together and look out for one another. They’re good kids and she trusts them enough to leave them alone for the day. These moments used to be rare, but with each passing week they become less so and Seraphina is relishing her increased time to herself. But it would be even better with Vladimir. The two try to find the time for their relationship, but with four rambunctious pups it’s hard sometimes. Not to mention Vlad’s newfound position as the Eorl has kept him busy. Sera hasn’t seen him since this morning, when he slipped out of the den not long after they’d awoken, and though that isn’t very long it feels like it to her. As much as they’re together, she misses him.

Paws sink into soft sand as the princess exits the forest and steps onto the shore. It isn’t so different from the lake that their family calls home, except the ocean is a never ending expanse and Sera would never dare to try braving those waters. The waters are powerful and dark, so unlike the still, tranquil lake. She doesn’t trust the ocean. It does make for a nice view though, that much she will admit. A seagull lands a few lengths in front of her and Sera freezes. It hasn’t spotted her yet luckily and her mouth waters at the thought of the bird. Normally she’s not a huge fan of birds - they’re too much feather and not enough meat - but when she’s hungry and it’s the closest option, she certainly won’t say no. The ess crouches, slowly moving towards the bird and then she pounces at it. There’s a startled squak as she lands on it but it’s cut short as Sera finishes the job. For a moment she stares at the blood and shivers, reminded too much of the battle she’d witnessed and of vampires, but a rumble from her stomach reminds her exactly why she killed the thing in the first place.

Seraphina doesn’t want to eat it alone though. Tilting her head back, she lets out a call for Vlad, hoping he’ll be close enough to join her. Her teeth fix themselves around the seagull and the ess carries it closer to the water, just up to the point where the water laps against her paws. The smell of salt is prominent and the breeze is crisp in the fall air. The gull remains untouched as she waits for her mate, wanting to share the meal with her other half. Though mostly she just wants alone time to catch up on all the moments she’s missed with him the past few months.
