Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

in the deafening silence;

what's a king
to a god?

Rehoboam stared at the young stallion before him, wondering if he was even old enough to understand the gravity of where he was and what he had done. The tobiano knew that at three he certainly hadn't possessed half the gravitas needed to lead a herd, let alone the Lagoon. Even when he'd run for Marauder as a fresh-faced five-year-old, he'd needed to do plenty of growing up before he'd begun to do any sort of good in the role. For Nahawi to have won an election amongst the brothers and managed to hold it for this long without an open mutiny, spoke to something inside of the young stallion.

The tobiano's eyes narrowed as the red dun began to make his point, but he remained quiet until he was done speaking. In truth, Reh was a little disappointed. He wasn't sure what sort of answer he had been seeking when he had asked the question, but to hear the stallion espouse the golden rule as his core mantra had not filled him with much hope.

"And what if they treat you with respect, but terrorize the islands in your name?" Reh's head tilted, the faint dun cobwebbing across his brow becoming visible as his forelock shifted. "Perhaps I should ask you this instead - you mentioned how the other territories despise the Lagoon," and with good reason, as far as Rehoboam had seen. "How do you plan to change that? Releasing the trinkets is a start, but releasing them as they arrive does not change the fact that they were taken, or raided, or harmed in.. other ways."

Rehoboam's eyes grew dark at the latter, but he did not elaborate on what he meant. The Lagoon had earned it's dark and dastardly reputation for any number of reprehensible acts. The sort of acts Nahawi would be hard-pressed to stop unless he had some sort of plan to enact change at the heart of the Lagoon.
