not everything is dark

Kieron
not everything is dark

The chestnut steed was still a bit winded from his travel. He wasn’t quite sure exactly how to express his thoughts or what he really wanted to say. And her stature didn’t really help things either. He figured as much, she would have thought he was only coming to make her stay and then disappear again. But that wasn’t so. His soul yearned for her, for her touch, for her love, and for her companionship.

Waves started out small, like the tide was rolling in. But the roar of thunder in the distance was clear. Dark grey clouds covered the sky in a blanket and the temperature suddenly dropped significantly. A breeze swept through the stallions fur coat, sending shivers progressing over his torso. It wouldn’t be long, and the storm would literally be upon them, in full force.

Kieron didn’t let the storm distract his thoughts though, or let it control his instinct to run for cover. He had come here with a purpose, and he wasn’t going to leave without Vivianna by his side. In a short amount of time, the fatale had become very dear, and precious to him. It wasn’t so much asking her to be his. Be his one and only. It was letting go of his obsession with losing his soul mate. He knew he had to move on. Finding a place to settle down was the first step. Finding someone he could trust to be loyal, to stay true to him, to support him and share his dreams.

"Vi. I wasn’t ignoring you these past few days."

He searched her souls for anything that would confirm to him she was on the same page as him. He was trying to hold a serious conversation. One they had yet to experience amidst each other. He decided to continue on, before he lost his nerve and the storm interrupted the moment.

His mane billowed wildly in the wind’s grasp, as his tail snarled around his limbs. It was almost pitch black now. And the storm was gaining on them. It would no longer be safe for the pair to stay stranded on the shore. They would be fools to think that they would not be harmed by just a little rain, as Kieron spotted white caps approaching the sandy beach.

"We must head for shelter."

The gentle giant rounded Vi and kindly pushed her towards the denser part of the thicket, to the west. Half forceful, half lovingly, he didn’t want to lose the mare to mother nature, but as a stallion, his instinct was to protect what belonged to him. And at this moment, Vi was his, and he wasn’t going to let her go.

"Head straight. In five strides take a sharp right. There should be a hollowed out, half cave, half over hang. We can hide out there until things calm down."

He followed close to her flank, making sure to nudge her if she should miss the turn. It was also another excuse for the stallion to be close to her. To feel the warmth of her bodice against him, smelling her sent, so intoxicating, he could not get enough. When they reached their temporary shelter, he was reluctant to separate himself from her, so he didn’t. He only made it more obvious this time, by pushing against her, as he moved towards her visage. So perfect she was.

His muzzle brushed her cheek and down her jaw line in a caress. Body heat was being changed against harsh breeze that every so often seemed to sneak into their private sanctuary. Warm breaths were exchanged, and the heated moment was just getting beginning.

"Vi. Stay with me. Be mine."

He gazed at her, with longing. If she would let him, he would love to breed with her this coming season. There was a hunger in his voice. A need from this vixen, a confirmation that she felt as he did. She had to know he could provide for her. He would have not given her a private place of her own, had he not wanted her to stay. He knew women loved gifts, but Kieron gave them sparingly, as gifts were of materialistic value. He wanted something deeper. But his gift had been a prelude to this. This moment of truth, would she accept?
