We have and are collaborating, but the state agencies belittle and demean the entire effort. The RI DEM still tells people there has been no confirmation since 1858 or so, a total falsehood. Matanuck...... Class 1 confirmation. There have been other studies done by trackers in the past, (1949-1958 Pomeroy). Pomeroy wrote a book about his adventures tracking them. His initial target was bobcats, but he ran into cougars in the process. One event took his dogs a considerable number of miles away chasing one. Patience, research is taking place.
