The Michigan Wildlife Conservancy inadvertently gave us a great education. For example, their insistence that two orange house cats videotaped at the edge of a field near the Indiana-Michigan state line (the Stokes video) were cougars educated us in how to distinguish cougars from house cats. Pat Rusz and Dennis Fijalkowski focused most of their attention on the Lower Peninsula. I don't believe any cougars have been confirmed on the LP, but more recently, they have been on the Upper Peninsula. These cats are male dispersers coming in from North and South Dakota. According to a news item I've saved, there were two confirmations last fall.
