I am the razor in the hands of your heart;
And I am the razor in the hands of God.
Evaline took a moment to admire the falls. She stood quietly as she watched the dark mare move toward the edge of the vast pool, cutting through a light layer of mist that clouded her coat. She was trying not to let her worries about the herd she'd left behind in the Dunes and her children back in the Prairie invade this peaceful moment. Silently she was grateful for Inka's company and their short stroll to find the falls. She listened casually to the rush of water that dropped from a peak nearby, watching the water as it emerged into the depths of a shallow pool. The palomino mare heaved a great sigh and walked easily toward the bank, where she took a long drink alongside Inka.
The mare swallows and hovers near the edge of the pool now as Inka asks about Luthien. "Yes, well, I was." Evaline answered quickly with a short flick of her thick blonde tail. "I lived in the Prairie with Valentine for several years. I was his lead mare for a short time. He's no longer here on the isles." She explained. "And I was recently traded by my son who rules there now. So I live in the Dunes." Evaline tried to say this last sentence as calmly as possible, but it was as if hearing it all out loud opened the floodgates to the many far reaching emotion she had about it. She could find a tingling in her gut and sudden wave of heat radiating from her core. She was so tired of being angry about it, but clearly she wasn't ready to let it go just let. "I live with a stallion named Gabbar now."
Evaline looked away as she spoke Gabbar's name aloud, allowing her gaze to focus on the falls again. She could feel her heart beating firmly in her chest. She heaved another great sigh, trying to find that calmness she'd felt just moments before.
