It was difficult to watch Creed's body language. To Evren, she moved and acted like someone who had been traumatized. Evren could understand, given the situation, but she also wondered if there was something else--perhaps something deep in Creed's past that had been awakened by the stress of this situation. Given they were practically strangers, Evren did not expect Creed to open up to her about it today. Nonetheless, she tucked the thought away for later. Perhaps in time she would find out, when they knew each other better. Or maybe it was nothing at all, and this was simply how Creed was.

Nonetheless, she found herself quickly growing impatient: at herself, at Creed, at Persephone, at Warsaw... at anyone and everyone. Even the gods, if they existed. The injustice and ridiculousness of this situation was a farce.

With her belly taut, Evren struggled to keep her expression neutral and her voice calm. She did not want to scare poor Creed off.

"Nothing will happen to her. I will tear that stallion apart with my hooves if he so much as touches a hair on her head." In spite of her attempt at self-control, a little fire had crept into her voice, and Evren checked herself, taking a deep breath and looking away momentarily. Her skin was hot, her blood singing. She hated feeling so powerless.

"I don't think Persephone will mind, so I will tell you what she told me. None of this had anything to do with you. Warsaw has some sick interest in Persephone. She wouldn't agree to a treaty with him, so he decided to use you as leverage. If not you, then it would have been someone else. It could have easily been me. It doesn't matter, though. Either way, he would have done anything to get to Persephone."

Evren looked at Creed, her amber-brown eyes full of fire and her mouth a firm line. "He will pay, don't you worry."
