And the cold lonely air. On the rock restless seas. When Vita Nova attempted to explain that Tavas would be moving to a new home, the golden filly didn't understand what all the fuss was about. She stared at her spotted mother quizzically, as tears dampened the sooty coat around her eyes and streamed down the sides of her face. Tavas wasn't just a little filly anymore. At two years old and nearing three, she was nearly a full-fledged mare. Plus she had her own thoughts and dreams - ideas and plans that had nothing to do with the Inlet or the herd she'd grown up with. The Inlet had never truly felt like home. She knew she had been born in the Prairie, even if she couldn't remember it - but the Inlet, it seemed, was just a stopping point along the way. The Bay. It wasn't as far from the Inlet as Tavas would have hoped, but it would do. The palomino mare remembered Requiem's face, but the two had barely talked, if ever, during the time they shared under Warsaw. He was her half-brother or something, but she couldn't remember the details. Either way, he seemed like he'd be more fun and upbeat to be around than Tavas' mom and Warsaw's boring herd mares. Warsaw though - she knew she'd miss him. Vita Nova said a weird thing that did stick with Tavas. And she thought about it now, as she embarked down the path her mother told her about that lead toward hew new neighboring home. "The Bay is a special place. Far more special than the Inlet. One day when you're older, I;'ll tell you more about it." Her mother's cryptic words made no sense to her. And she thought it was generally unfair for her to leave her hanging like that. So with a short snort, she tossed the thought from her mind and kept her eyes peeled on her new surroundings.
