It didn't take him long to find company. He heard someone else running in the sand and slid to a stop, almost toppling over again. Saved it! Glancing around, the striped colt soon set his gaze on the other red and white colt. His nostrils flared as he tasted the air, his mouth already licking and chewing as he pricked his tiny ears and swished his tail. Oh, another foal! It seemed to be about his size, anyway. Deciding this was as good a time as any to make a friend, Akello let out a nicker and trotted toward the other male. He was better at the whole trotting thing than the running thing, at least for now. He would get it beat! Tossing his head as he got closer, the tobiano colt smirked and stretched his muzzle out to the other. "Hi, I'm Akello. Who are you?"
He looked over the colt, wondering if they were close in age and where his mother was. Surely he had someone to give him milk, too, right? The paint colt wondered if the other male had met the big stallion too, the one who was there when he opened his own eyes at birth. He still didn't quite get who the stallion was to him, but somehow he seemed important. At least, his mother seemed to like the large stallion. Would he be that big some day?
