The mare lifted her head as he approached, ears forward as she tentatively reached out to exchange breath with him. It was a step forward and he took it eagerly. She greeted him with a hello and he grinned back in response, not at all hampered by the cold undertone of her voice like she wasn't quite sure of him. He could change that in no time! He was sure of it. Luckily it seemed his compliment had done the trick, the mare working to clear her throat before giving a nervous chuckle and thanking him. She seemed lost for words for a moment before offering him a compliment back. He shrugged and shook his forelock with a soft snort. "Mine are just boring brown but thank you, anyway, miss." He offered politely. She gave her name as Cerosi and asked if he was Cain's son. He nodded his head and straightened up a little.

"Yep, sure am." His ears strained forward as he heard her stomach and he scowled thoughtfully. Was she getting enough to eat? He watched as she reached down to pluck at some of the grass around them. "Have you been to the east side of the herd lands yet? There's a larger oasis over there with plenty of grass and shade. I can show you, if you like." He offered. There was also a cold spring in the cave nearby and more than a few fruit trees around the perimeter with sweet plums and apricots and such on them. He was eager to show them to her if she didn't already know about them.
