Exactly how do you 'advocate for the disabled??" I think that's not what you're about. Who's Special? those who 'advocate' by making unrealistic demands, or the ones themselves who can't get up the stairs of every building they might want to visit?
Sorry, but you were told a long time ago that everybody doesnt have to provide an elevator for your special kid! You seem to be the one who wanted the accomodation, if I remember right and you squeezed that little volunteer radio station to give it to you just because you were on their board. Didn't you and they part ways, partially for that so long ago? There are lots of things we need to do for the handicapped. Elevators in every building isn't really that high on the list, is it? There are many different needs, not just yours-- but I'm sure you've been told that.
Sadly we can't always make everyone able bodied or minded and it serves no purpose to just be a gadfly about it. Why not be a liberal and advocate for USAID, and better SNAP benefits? More facilities better staffed? Seriously, a shortage of elevators isn't really what needs to be solved in this world.
Exactly what have you been advocating besides coming in this little room whining all the time, Jim? Immobility is just one need and society's given those folks way more than their share of available funds. In short, there are greater needs, but I never heard you advocating for THEM! You're not wrong to look out for your own but your own is just scratching the surface of what needs to be done.
You should be out there screaming to get rid of the Trump mentality that fucks over millions and millions of people across the world--not just those who can't get up the stairs.
Did you ever know John Frye, on the Wichita BOE, who ran a training and work shelter for the mentally handicapped?
That guy did good work and touched a lot of lives. THAT's what I call 'advocating'. We need more of that, now that we understand how widespread autism is. And the Dickheads in the White House and at HHS are looking in the wrong place to fix stop it, and nothing to help the one in 20 some Americans afflicted with it. They'll need help and guidance for their whole lives..and imprisoning them or letting em live under bridges is hardly an effective solution for them.
Just their sheer numbers should give you cause to broaden your 'advocacy' if thats what you claim you do! You should be out there dumping on RFK Jr, who's about to give us another round of polio and dread diseases we'd already eliminated with vaccines.
Spend more time lookin for those needs, rather than scouring this rinky dink site for my posts to trash me with your nonsense. There's plenty of stuff to do, but it ain't in HERE, jimbo!
