Tefnut of the Bay
And the gasoline of my soul will come alive.
Tefnut was out of her depth, but looking into her eyes and watching her body posture would say that loud and clear. She felt like she was drowning in a kiddie pool, but she managed to have tiny arm floating holding her just barely above water. It was all she had keeping her afloat, but she was able to breathe when Rethe spoke.
Listening with undivided attention, the red dun perked her ears forward and gobbled up everything the dark maiden spoke. Her head tilted at the flowers, looking at the one Rethe showed and a smile lifted her lips. They certainly were a gorgeous flower. She would have to start sneaking some to where Rethe roamed most, but she hid that internal thought and lifted her head again as Rethe spoke more.
With her heart easing, Tefnut got sidetracked when Rethe finished speaking. The light of the moon was bathing her body is silver. The dazzling display had the red dun barely in the present as she traced every piece of hair that stood up like a beacon. It took her a moment, but the star dazed mare soon enough turned back to the present when Rethe asked her own questions. Tefnut had to think and swallow the drool that tried to escape her lips, but she managed to answer.
“I… for the flower I really like those purple flowers called phlox?” She had to go through her mind a second and remember the name of them as she had only heard it in passing all those years ago in the falls. “They're a little purple mountain flower.” A smile curled her lips then as she looked at her hooves, now even more nervous as the questions went to her.
”For color… I like a pinkish orange, like the sky early in the morning.” As she spoke, her tail softly flicked at her hocks as she lifted her gaze and let her blue eyes watch Rethe. “The Falls.” Tefnut replied for her place. Her tail wiggled a bit then as a smile grew brighter on her face. “The open expanse of it and the hidden cave behind the water. My father raised me there. It was gorgeous in all the seasons, but spring was always the best.” Quieting after her answers, the mare slowly tilted her head as another question filled her head.
“If you could pick anywhere on the islands to visit that's not here in the Bay, where would you go?” She was gonna play twenty questions if Rethe allowed it, obviously. “And… what's your favorite season and weather?”
