Tefnut
So I can quench your thirst.
I AM Tefnut.
Ever since that day, things were off. It left the islands a lot less inhabited by many. It left a darkness in someone's heart. Staring out over the ocean in which she had watched her sister leave, Tefnut found herself alone for the first time in forever. She could no longer scent Rethe on the wind or hear Apex in the distance. She couldn’t remember their laughter either. It broke something inside of her, something that was starting to fester and grow infected.
Slowly twisting her tail around her hocks, the red dun mare turned slowly to look out over the land in which she called home. She should really be happy to have it, but she found herself standing in a territory fully alone. It had been okay there for a while, knowing she had her sister here. The fact Apex had been gone for a while had not bothered her. Knowing Rethe was also away had not settled like a lead weight in behind her breast until now. Feeling it then was okay, as if she could still breathe. Now though… Tefnut was forced to choke on air as she tried to understand why she was so utterly alone.
Shaking her head to rid herself of the pity game, Tefnut shifted her position. She stood close to the Inlet, letting the steady presence of Nicodemus counter act the free fall she could see in front of her. She did not know him, not well, but it was better than nothing. Hearing hooves in the distance though, the red mare looked out in that direction. Her rimmed ears slowly lowered as she forced her bottom lip not to wobble, even though she really did wish in that moment she could.
