During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Equinox, the name was intriguing to Hope. It had a certain ring to it that seemed to fit the pup well. Not that she knew why, just more that she liked it. It made him seem grander somehow. That is, if you could look past the terrified form she had first looked on. He seemed frustrated by something, kneading the ground as if looking for a good place to dig a den.

"You're in a pack territory called Munashii Gekko. It's a very quiet sort of place."

She mused the thought, remembering how few there had been when she had first been welcomed and how they had lost some from even that many. Yes, a truly quiet sort of place. Filled with the silence of loss, with the silence of waiting, and the last of a lingering memory. Hope wondered if one day it would be filled again with wolves, but that thought alone left a distaste in her mouth. It would only happen unless Silence stepped up, or unless they all left. Silence did not want to step up.

For a moment she was glad the pup could not see her, as her expression softened to one of wistful wanting. She struggled to regain composure, alert for another question or the return of her brother.

The smell of meat soon drifted towards her and Hope turned her head and waited for Silence to appear. It took longer than she thought it would, but soon enough he came through the trees. There was a bloodied sheep that he was walking almost sideways with. Half dragging and half carrying it, he seemed to be glad to finally reach his destination. What she was not expecting was the scent of another wolf as well, one that brought to mind 'Atra.' Silence met her gaze, cold, hard, ice in his that said he was not happy. Her own eyes narrowed faintly as she pushed to her feet.

"Eat. You and the pup...if he's on solids."

He looked at the carcass hungrily, but left it still. There was a pup's mouth to feed, and as much as he would carry rank for the best parts of the sheep, he also knew that nutrition went to the young.

"Then perhaps you can answer her questions."

It was said blandly, drawing Hope's gaze back to her brother with a light blink. It was one of those times that she couldn't tell if he seemed amused or angry. Perhaps both. So she snorted in response and trudged to the food that had been brought in.
