Koguma frowned a bit, flinching at the booming, harsh call of the lion. It was obvious the other creature was quite big, and despite himself Koguma felt a pang of fear spike through him as he took a cautious step back, away from the approaching, grinning beast. Exactly how the lion knew what he was was beyond him, and he blinked a few times, soft brown eyes locked on Maliki's golden ones with caution and wariness. He'd not encountered so hostile a beast before, nor quite so large, and he swallowed hard before giving an answer.

"I go by Koguma," he replied, and despite his slight fear there was no tremor of terror in his voice, nor even a shake of uncertainty: he knew who he was, and what that meant to him. "And who are you?" The malamute was by no means antagonistic, merely curious in an innocent way that Maliki was obviously not.
