aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

\\ young adult / maiden / Aurora Borealis / no love \\

slow. so slow. that's how the petite girl moved. it was like just the effort it took to pick up her paw and place it forward was almost too much. like she wanted-- needed-- to just collapse and give up. and, truthfully, that's what she almost did most of the time. what kept her going? now that's a good question. perhaps it was the small shred of hope she clung to that she would see him again? no, not her brother, her other half, she had given up on him a long time ago and that's what broke her in the first place. no, this "him" was someone who was about as close to as a brother but she had slightly different feelings for him.. now her thoughts turned to him, the kind and gentle brute with the stunning azure gaze. if the lass still smiled, i think now would be one of those times. but she didn't. she was but a shell of wolf, alive but not really living. the fire that had burned bright as the sun in her amber gaze was now extinguished and the spring in her step had vanished.

now her grudging stride turned towards the only place she could call home. the pack had been all but dead and she had wandered away from it for a bit. after all, what was the point of being there without Cody? he was the reason she had gone in the first place. but he had disappeared just like her brother had. it didn't surprise her though, since this wasn't the first time Cody'd left Blossom. her mind wandered but lingered on this topic. a quiet, breathy whine escaped her throat with these thoughts. she flinched as if physically struck as the thoughts brought not only a wave of fresh sadness but also a small stab of pain to her heart. her pace continued, ever so slowly, and she soon came upon Aurora's boarder. she was only a few yards into the pack lands when a beautiful and melodic howl caressed the air. she had never heard the call before but something in her told her that it was his voice. her drooped head lifted in his direction and her audetts flicked forward. meanwhile, her whole frame had frozen.

for the first time in a long time, Zig felt hope. her heart, broken and battered as it was, rose in her chest, it's pace quickening. in an instant, her bodice unfroze and she had taken off. the valkyrie hadn't realized how much she'd missed the pull of her muscles as she ran until now. her stilts, though short, carried her quick as a dart towards him. more than once she stumbled and nearly crashed into a tree or something. but still she bolted on. her small physique maneuvered easily through tight spots as she hurried toward the call. finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, she reached the clearing. she slowed her pace to a crawl just before she broke through to the clearing its self. her eyes, still not as alive as they used to be, were full of hope and curiosity. she sucked in a deep breath and held it before slowly blowing it out again. tentatively, Zig put one foot out, into the meadowy space and slowly followed it by the rest of her ruddy figure. her eyes, which had just been cast towards the ground, slowly rose up and landed upon the white frame of the wolf. a gasp took her and she nearly forgot to breath. it was really him. tears welled in her eyes. in a sudden burst of motion she ran to him, tackling his larger frame to the ground. oh, Cody, you're back! the words came out half choked and thick with emotion. she nuzzled into him and even went so far as to lick his cheek and neck. she couldn't even remember the last time she'd been anything but depressed. but now he was back and she was happy. you aren't going anywhere, are you? the question was anxious and her golden brown gaze was stuck like glue to his cyan pools. i think it was in these few moments that the tiny timber maiden realized that she loved him, really and truly, and the thought shocked her.

talking.
