aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyal Til Death

The grey brute’s icy gaze focused onto his friend Kong as Kong addressed him with a smile. It’s time to get life back into this place, agreed? was Kong’s question, and Kalgalath couldn’t agree more, especially after what Kong had told him of Munashii Gekko’s fate when Kalgalath had first arrived. Kal knew how much King Kong must dread the same thing happening to this pack, and to be honest, Kalgalath shared that fear. “Yes, my old friend. Far past time…” The brute knew how deeply Sin’s death had affected the pack, but for so few to heed Kong’s call in the amount of time that passed… the pack was in trouble.

Kalgalath remained silent as two other pack members arrived at the pack meeting. The first was a fae, who arrived with a smile on her face and dipped her head in greeting to Kong. The fae approached Kong and addressed him in a friendly manner, and Kong returned the address, naming the fae as one dubbed ‘Zig’. The brute files away the name in his memory… in the time that he has been in the pack, he had not seen a single other wolf – even Kong had disappeared – and so Kalagalth was happy to see other lupines in the terra, even if it was under such circumstances. The next lupine to arrive was a brute who did not know Kong, which seemed strange to Kal. Kong had been Beta of the pack a long while before he had accepted Kal into Aurora Borealis… how was it that this brute did not know of him. The newcomer introduced himself as Chiron, another name that got filed away into Kalgalath’s memory. He never forgot a face, nor a name, part of what made him so loyal. So, although Kal did not like the way that the brute seemed to test Kong, Kal remained silent as he watched this new brute become submissive in Kong’s presence, and Kong smiles. Kalgalath relaxes, trusting his friend’s instincts.

Kal’s twin towers swivel toward his friend once more as he addresses Chiron, telling him of the situation at hand: of Sin’s death and of Cody’s absence. Although he doesn’t know the name, he understands the wolf’s importance by the way Kong speaks of him, and Kal regrets that this unknown brute is absent from the pack. A slight idea of confusion lays upon his mind, as he wonders why Kong does not take the title for himself – Kal knows of his demeanor and of his morals, and believes that his friend would make a great alpha, one capable to lead them all, but he doesn’t question his friend, knowing that Kong must have his own reasons for his choices. Kong continues his speech, and requests a pack vote for a new alpha, and understanding pops into Kalgalath’s mind. So this is why he has called us together… Kalgalath smiles at his friend, proud of his wiseness.

As Kong falls silent, Kal dips his head in greeting to the two lupines that had arrived. “I am honored to make both of your acquaintances. I am Kalgalath… Kong accepted me into the pack, and it is good indeed to see other faces.” The brute decided to leave out the untimely manner when he had been accepted: at Sin’s death. Next he turned to his friend, and in a quieter voice, “Although I do not know why you do not step forward as Alpha, for I know that you would make a great one, I will put in the idea of becoming Alpha myself. I know that I have only been here a short time in comparison to most others, but you have known me a long time and know what type of a wolf I am. And this Cody that you speak of, he could have the title back should he return. But speak once of any doubt of my capability to hold the position, and I shall quite willingly be silent and speak no more of it.” He fell silent once more, wishing to know his friend’s thoughts before speaking of it to the others. Should Kong have any doubt that Kalgalath would not make a good Alpha, Kal will trust his friend and not run for the position. He just hated to see the pack in shambles…
