At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The fae’s high pitched vocals rang out as she laughed, thinking his words to be a joke. The sad truth was that she had no memory of cruel wolves nor kind wolves nor wolves at all, so she had no idea that wolves could be mean. After Apollonia’s long, questioning monologue, Lycaon had replied to her with softer vocals before, which Apollonia found to be reassuring. What I mean is… If you want me to find you something to drink and you want me to protect you from all the horrible monsters that will want to eat you and spit out your bones, then I suggest that you stop asking so many questions. The large brute made her feel safe and the pup wondered if this was how she had felt when she had lived with her parents. The lack of memory left a lot to her imagination. But she imagined that her parents had been kind and loving, and had been strong and protective. And that they wouldn’t leave her alone, much in the way that Lycaon had offered to help her out. But, obviously they had left her alone, or else she would not have ended up in the river. She would not be here, now, alone. That thought instantly silenced the little pup, her mood suddenly become morose. Though she rubbed against him affectionately, the brute’s response was not what she had expected it would be. Um, there’s no need for that now is there? The pup backed up quickly and lowered her gaze. The brute moved away from her, spoke once more, his deep voice reverberating through the cavern until it reached her audettes. Come along then Apollonia, unless you want to stay here on your own? The little fae’s limbs propelled her forward toward the brute, but she kept her gaze upon the ground while she followed him. As they travelled out of the caverns and toward the lake, the fae found that she had to leap and run in order to keep up with the brute, even though he was clearly walking slower than his normal speed. The terrain changed from the hard, slippery surface in the cavern to a softer, grassy texture as they travelled through the words. As they entered the forest, the pup picked up her pace in order to keep closer to Lycaon, for every tree and branch cast a shadow, and each shadow could hide a monster. So Apollonia, why, of all places, did you go to the Cavern? Especially with you being so small and vulnerable. The fae jumped at the sudden sound of his words, but once she settled back down, she replied. This time, her words were slow and missing their usually high excitement. “Well, mister… I was chasing a bug, and I didn’t notice that it got dark until it was too dark to see anything and I was lost. And I guess I didn’t know any better… I don’t have anyone. That I remember at least…” The pup inhaled sharply, not having meant to reveal so much about her past. It was a touchy subject for Apollonia, one that she did not like to discuss. And when the little fae glanced up, she noticed that they had reached a large body of water, and while she was thirsty, her fear of drowning overpowered her and she ran backwards, stumbling into the brute once again, whimpers over taking her. But the brute spoke again, and Apollonia ran a few steps away from him so that her gaze could fall upon the brute. Look I have found you some water. I kept my end of deal so off you pop. Apollonia’s eyes filled with sadness. “But mister… I can’t go near that lake. I mean.. when I woke up I was… and the water… I almost died.” The fae’s gaze travelled to the water’s edge, pulling forth another set of whimpers from her maw. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ |
