Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Dawn was upon the land bringing with it the soft, gray glow of the sun. The clouds were turning into beautiful pink and purple puffs but Iblis was asleep and hadn't noticed. The wolf had dozed off the moment his eyes had closed. The world was waking up around him and every little noise made his ears twitch and he came into a slight wakefulness, but then he would drift off yet again. As he slept, Fate began to work her magic upon the lone warrior. She made him dream. He was standing on the edge of a cliff. It was too far to see the bottom and all around him was darkness. He was not alone. Beside him stood another wolf. Her fur was white and her eyes were jaded gems. A golden chain bound the two wolves together as they stood on the edge of darkness. Iblis turned to the wolfess and smiled. Just seeing her made his heart leap into action and her name made him shiver. He wanted to utter it now, but found himself unable to. She stared at him, her eyes cold and her daggers exposed. Then, she turned to the cliff and jumped. Again, Iblis tried to call out her name, tried to stop her, but found his voice silent and paws stilled. The golden chain around his neck pulled tight and inched him towards the edge. There was a time when Iblis had said he would follow her over the cliff and into darkness. Would he be kept to his promise now?

Suddenly, a burst of light exploded from behind him. Iblis turned his head and the chain snapped. But he did not notice. The light called to him, soothed his soul, and gently beckoned him away from the cliff. There was a voice, a sweet chorus of bells, that sung his name and with new found wings Iblis flew to her. Strange. Her. It was almost as if he knew who she was. Closer and closer to the light he flew until his eyes snapped open at the sound of a heavenly voice. Iblis gazed at her and at once he knew that Fate had given him a reason to fight and a reason to live. She was beautiful with fur a mix of copper and white and eyes the shade of the ocean. Iblis was on his paws at once, not noticing how she toward over him or how easily she could pin him down. Of course, he wouldn't complain if she did.

"Hello, my lady. What brings one as fair as yourself out into the world so early? Please, allow me to introduce myself. I am called Iblis. I am a lone warrior, but now I feel that I shall never be alone. What may I call you?" Iblis said, bowing his head low to the ground. This wolfess may not know it now, but she had just gained a fierce knight who would watch and protect her. Iblis would be at her beck and call no matter what and he would be whatever she wanted him to be. Iblis wanted nothing more than to rub his fur with hers, to blend their scents together. He wanted to hear her speak again and wanted to be at her side forever. But he stayed his paws for now and waited for her to speak. It seemed like Fate had smiled down upon the older warrior at last and rewarded him with a gem so precious that he would guard it with his life.
