Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice ....................................................................................................................................................................................
The femme had lowered her tail and auds respectfully, but had not come even close to submitting, so the Alpha began to believe that they had no thoughts of joining. Her maw opened to offer forth her vocals. Hello Kalgalath. My name is Adara and this is my brother, Rohan. Do we have business with his pack brother?Kalgalath was not surprised when the femme mentioned that the brute at her side was her brother. Although ‘mate’ would have been many people’s first guesses, it was not his. The icy blue eye color was far too rare, although there was always the possibility… Afterall, he and Nika had shared them. That was the first thing that he had noticed about her – her eyes……
Kalgalath shifted his gaze to the brute, awaiting his words since the sister seemed to have left the power of choice in the paws of her brother. The blackened lupine did as his sister had done in terms of body language before opening his maw to respond. Kalgalath, I had no business with your pack but seeing that I am here now I might consider asking to join but I would like to wait for my mother’s consent. Kalgalath’s brows lifted in amusement – these two adult siblings were still relying on their mother to make their decisions for them. However, it showed that theirs was a close-knit family, which was a breath of fresh air to see from all of the homeless pups that had recently arrived at his borders.
The silvered brute sat his haunches upon the earth, ready to wait for the sibling’s mother to arrive in order for her to give them direction. As he waited, another scent made its way into the Alpha’s nares, and the brute smiled as he turned, the darkened femme coming into his visionaries. Magic had been there for him through many different things, and had been a loyal member of his pack up to this point, and the brute hoped that he would soon be able to become better acquainted with her mate and their new adopted daughter, both of which had been absent as of late. And here she was once more – providing back up should either of the two adults prove to be dangerous. She greeted him with a dip of her head. Kalgalath. After she examined the pair that stood on the far side of the boundary, she turned toward Kalgalath once more, her eyes full of unspoken once more. Questions that he himself were asking. Their eye color, while so rare, was similar to his own, though he knew that they had no relation to him. But was it possible that they were related to Aindreas?
However, it proved to be a completely different situation than even Kalgalath could imagine. For yet another scent entered his nares. The brute’s gaze quickly shook off of the femme and transferred itself to behind the siblings. His lids blinked furiously, and his heart began to thump in his chest. It was her. She had left him in the night without a word, without an explanation. And here she was now, after searching him out for an unreason yet unknown. She was here. The light brown femme nuzzled against the brute. I am here, my son. SON? These two siblings are her kids? Kalgalath found that he couldn’t breathe, nor could he speak – his heart was caught up in his throat. Forgive me. The brute she nuzzled against returned the embrace, his own maw opening to respond to her. Mother I was never angry at you. I never have been. Forgive me for my actions. No offer of comfort was offered to her daughter however, which shocked Kalgalath. Her orbs had raised themselves then, catching upon Magic, Nika’s auds flattening themselves, but then her beauteous icy gaze fell upon him, the Lord himself. Her eyes latched onto his and the first day that they met went flashing into his mind. It had been these same orbs that had caught his attention that first day. It was no different now.
She moved her bodice between her offspring and him, her plume beginning to wag and her cranium raising. Remember me, Kal? “How could I forget you, Nika… How did… When… Why did you leave me?”She then gestured to the siblings. Think hard. You may remember them too. Kal’s gaze, though loathe to leave their current resting place upon the femme, switched to the lupines she had gestured to. Their gaze. And their coats… they certainly didn’t get their coloring from their mother… Was it… could it… His gaze switched back to the fae, his vocals ringing out almost in a bit of a craze. “But we only… it was one time… Did you.. I… I have children?” He was completely unaware that she had even been pregnant. How was it that he had had children and didn’t know?
As his gaze flickered between the fae who had once held his heart and the two lupines who apparently were his kin, and it was obviously that they were just as confused as he was. The fae… the one named Adara spoke, her words almost a whine. Are you our father? Kal inhaled deeply. From all that Nika said – and he was sure that she would not lie to him – it was true. “Yes, Adara… I… I think I am. I’m sorry, I was unaware that I had children. I didn’t know…” The grey brute turned toward Magic, knowing that her presence would be reassuring. She had found Aindreas for him, and now she was present for this. She would be well rewarded at the pack meeting. Wait… “Aindreas…” The name was quietly said, but his gaze soon refocused on the femme who had already shaken him so. “Nika…” The tone was questioning. He didn’t want to ask the question, but knew it had to be. There was one more wolf – one the age of these two siblings, with their matching eye color. “You didn’t only have twins, did you?”
