Finally, I am old enough to not be watched all day and night. I’m not exactly sure if I am allowed to leave Diveen or not, but what does it matter when Mother and Father are so busy with my new brothers and sisters? I’m not jealous by any means. I am definitely enjoying my newfound freedom. There are so many places to explore outside of Diveen! I saw Spirane briefly with Bird, but it still wasn’t much. I miss Bird. I should find him again. He was strange almost in the way I am strange, except that he doesn’t talk. I still think I’ll be able to teach him some day, but we’ll see.
My adventures have brought me through the forest of Diveen and into a grassy plain. It’s so strange here, mostly flat but with high grass almost tall enough to cover me completely. I think that this is the way Bird brought me when we went to his homeland, but I can’t remember now. I was little then and not so good with directions.
There is a lake in front of me. Behind it, I can see tall mountains, significantly taller than those in Diveen. So this was the way to Spirane. Perhaps I will continue on and see if I can find my way to Bird. Suddenly, light reflects off of splashing water, drawing my eyes toward the lake. Something is splashing around in the water! Maybe it is some strange animal I have not yet seen! Curiosity piqued, I trot through the high grass toward the lake. Sure enough, there is a wolf – sadly not some strange unknown beast, that would have been fascinating – swimming around. It’s strange though, he doesn’t appear to be trying to get clean like Celeste would.
My head tilts, violet eyes tracing the movements of this stranger. She seemed to be watching something in the water. Well if there was something worth seeing there, then I had to see it for myself! My russet specked form emerged from the tall grass, heading for the water, waiting to see what strange creatures lurked beneath the surface.
