Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

The weather was getting colder. It seemed that whenever anything exhaled, their breath would transform into frost. However, it was just getting to the days when the mornings were just about freezing and the afternoons were perfectly devised to warm others. The sun would lazily cast rays of light that would be always be in front of you, but never had the warmth inside of them that one could warm itself under the ray; they would have to find a different way to warm themselves. A robin flew overhead, its russet body not the brightest it had been that year. Cold was a thing indescribable, the bitterness of it not pleasant in the slightest; was the world really wanting to transfer into this type of season so quickly? What was wrong with warm weather? The robin nestled down into its nest as the day drifted on into the afternoon, perhaps the last time it would ever sit there for the rest of its life.

A small ess was traveling lightly through the forest, careful about where she placed her step. Her auds flickered as she made her way through the forest, trying to find a place where she had never been, which wasn’t very hard at all. The girl had only been to a river, more like a brook or stream, just south of here, and the cold inside of her was aching to become warmth. Her white pelt glimmered in the sunshine, still attracting the gleams even if the sun didn’t have the energy to see her. Her shadowed paws were hidden in the leaves that were already fallen on the ground at the edges of their home trees, waiting for a breeze to come and sweep them from the ground to a place they had never felt before. The ess raised her head, smelling sunshine ahead. How did a wolf scent sunshine? Well, this only comes to a couple of wolves every once in a while, particularly the wolves that couldn’t see in the first place.

Yes, this fae walking through the forest was blind. She only remembered the sight of rain and light once before she lost the way a wolf sees the world, and she had trouble ever since. Her eyes were the lightest of blues, always clouded over but on some days it was heavier than others. With one of her most powerful senses gone, the ess had to develop ways to look at the world differently, her scent and hearing the two strongest ones she used to aid her. She heard almost twice as better as any other wolf, her scent perhaps just a little stronger than it should be. The price for being blind had been paid, but the ess didn’t regret any of it. She saw the world in a different light, something more powerful than darkness and more mysterious than the real light that touches the edges of the trees every day. The world this ess lives in is not one that should be described, even if a wolf found the right words to say.

The fae was walking through the trees, already starting to feel the sky open up and she felt the trees start to thin and soon, she was walking in the pale light, through a field to a place that called her name. She didn’t really know where she was going or if she would stay long. Perhaps a wolf would show her around, she had not the slightest idea. The only goal set in her mind was that she wanted to know all the ground in this massive forest soon before she even made the decision of staying here for life, even though fate already knew the answer. She lifted her cranium into the air, scenting for a good place to sit or lay down to wait. She smelled a small marsh, just the tiniest hint of old water, and made her way over to it, tasting the spring and listening to the wind as it blew through the long grass. It was time for her to sit and rest, but she knew very well that it would be no time at all before she continued.
