They had gone off to discuss Belle's future. It seemed like a safe enough day, and Everlyse and Natu had been watching the pups. That was fine. Halo was quiet, Herschel was fine enough with his cousins, and Belle was... well, Belle. This was the current layout of the gypsies in Alice's mind, and that meant everyone would pull their own weight. That was all that mattered, in her mind. She had the time to speak, speak with the niece she had raised about raising one of her own. They'd gone on a walk, one that took them toward the center of the land itself. That made sense. Really, it had been the nicest of days. Spring could be like that, sometimes.
And then suddenly... things weren't okay. Alice found herself with the strange tug of the imprint bond, something like Hawthorn had brought her once but different. So different, so much clearer, so much... yeah, something was totally wrong. She stops dead in her tracks, ears pinning to her broad skull, fiery eyes going stark and wide with a feeling of absolute foreboding crossing through her system. Moments later there's a call that ships Delya and Alice off at a run. Though Delya isn't much of a warrior, this is her family at stake as well. This was the moment when they would both be in action.
Delya reaches the group first, only because she's faster by nature. Longer legs, more accustomed to running, high spirited and hard-headed... but she knows her limits. Heart pounding in her throat as she finally reaches the scene of the attack. Stomach churning, dialing in her focus on the bear and then on Rhae-- and then on Seamus. The Russian dancer has to suppress the urge to throw up on the spot, and she can see more broken bodies where the bear is located. One she recognizes, with a pang, as Everlyse's mate. She tries to process further, but not before a grey flash comes back into her field of vision.
The clockwork angel throws herself toward the side of the bear, snarling. How dare the creature threaten her family? The matriarch of the gypsies reaches out with gnashing teeth in the attempt to reach into the soft flesh where thigh becomes belly. Though she is more advanced in age than many of the others, Alice has the know-how to throw herself into the situation. Her teeth as sharp as her wits, set up to rip and to tare and to cause as much harm as she possibly can. Snarling from her ribcage and throat and just... sheer anger. No one threatens her family.
Delya is torn only briefly between staying with Seamus and aiding Alice. A hesitance-- she licks Seamus's forehead, checking in briefly. "What can I do for you?" Stiff posture, gaze flickering between the groups, the factions of the situation before her. Too many things, and she's anxious. So anxious, so incredibly anxious about the whole situation at her feet.
