Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I can tell Solitaire is hurting. He limps with every step even as he tries to keep the bull seal distracted and tries to finish off the seal pup. I whimper every time I set eyes on him, a little regrettful that I got him into this but I know it would all be for nothing if we don't finish this and get the seal pup dragged off so we can eat it. At least then I can start to make it up to him. My own flanks are burning as the blood trickles down my back leg. I know the bull seal got me pretty good with his tusk but the adrenaline is keeping me going for now. I don't even want to look at it because then I might get sick. My side is aching every time I breathe from the bull seal ramming into me and knocking me into those rocks. I know it's going to bruise but at least it doesn't feel like anything's fractured.

Once I finish off the seal pup, I grab onto it, keeping a careful eye on the adult seals as they watch us start dragging it off. I want to make sure none of them come after us but they look like they've already given up, the bull seal giving one last bellow like a warning before he turns slowly and starts back to the others. The mother seal continues to stare, her eyes black and beady and penetrating but Solitaire comes to my side to help me drag and I turn my gaze to him, whining again in sympathy when I see the blood trickling down from his shoulder. He'll probably need to get that looked at.

When we finally get the seal pup to somewhere safe, I let go and start looking at Solitaire, noting with a light of humor in my eyes that he's doing the same to me. I shake my head and even laugh a little, though right after, I cringe from the aching in my side.

"I'm fine, really. Just a scratch on my flanks and a bruise on my ribs. What about you?"

I know the gash on my flanks is much more than a scratch but I'm still too scared to look. I know it didn't hit bone but it feels like it got through some muscle. It sure feels like it anyway. I look back at Solitaire.

"So the question is...do you want to eat first or find a healer?"

I offer a humorous smirk as I wait for his answer.
