At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

Her reactions were sluggish. She hardly reacted to his words or her voice save for the slightest motion – a nod of her cranium. As he moved from where he had lain before, behind her, Kalgalath imagined that she leaned ever so slightly into him, almost as if hoping that he would stop moving away from her. But he didn’t – they were practically strangers… no, they were complete strangers. It was true that he had saved her from drowning in all certainty, but he did not know anything about her. Her name, her origins, her past, her desires, her future… Kalgalath knew naught. And so he continued to move from her, separating his pelt from hers until he stood on his own, and finally he had moved to come in front of her, hoping that all of that would change. That soon they would no longer be strangers. That, for some reason, she would want to get to know him. For the brute already found his own curiosity piqued and found himself interested in getting to know her.

As he talked to her and refused to share in her meal, not to be rude, but to ensure that she got enough energy for herself, she slowly started to rouse. As he watched, her nares moistened – a good sign that the fish and its liquid contents within were doing her some good. Kalgalath tried his best to make her smile, his joking a poor attempt, but it did manage to eek out a smile onto her features. It was a weak smile… but what was even better was the laughter that followed. Quiet, but he definitely heard it. Kalgalath smiled back at her, hoping that it would give her some encouragement, before asking for her name and telling her his own. She peered into his eyes, their gazes locking onto one another, her suns matching his arctics. That is, until she tried to speak, a run of stutters all that managed to work their way out. I, uh… And that was it, the moment was lost. Her cranium turned as she looked away, a heat rising inside of her façade. There were moments of silence before she tried again, this time succeeding. I’m Sebring. And just like that, she caught his eye for a brief moment. “Well, Sebring, it is very nice to meet you.

And so it went on, a game of cat and mouse. Each time he asked her a question or spoke, she would look away. It was as if he scared her… or perhaps the things that she was remembering were the things that scared her. What exactly had happened in her past that would make her be such? What paths had led her to this point in her life? What made her this injured and weak? Suddenly she stood and Kalgalath jumped to his feet, not thinking that she would attack him for prying into her past, but he could not be too sure. But instead of attacking him, she glanced away and then collapsed, soft cries pulling themselves from her maw and her lids gluing themselves shut. Whimpers fell from Kalgalath’s own maw and he buckled his limbs, crawling toward her, watching her muscles all tighten at once. Gently, he pushed his nares into her flesh, hoping to ground her. Within a few moments she stood again and he peered up at her as she towered over him. I, well um… her cranium began to lower until it nearly touched his own, gaze averted. I guess I ran from reality until reality finally caught up with me… The mottled brute did not know what that meant exactly, but what he did know what that he could not pry farther into her personal life. It was none of his business. His front limbs pushed upward, making him sit upon the silt, and he leaned toward her, trying to offer her comfort. "Are you okay?"
