aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

It seemed that all that it took for the three of them to truly get along was the thought of being captured by demons. Vladimir had no disparaging remark to make to Seraphina, fully focused on the task at hand: where the pups should go. “We ran past some abandoned caves on the south end of the pack once - let’s go there!” No sooner had he spoken than the snapping of a twig could be heard. The demons! Sera’s ears shot up. The boys had heard it as well and the three of them bolted through the forest. The princess stayed between the twins, following Vlad’s lead to the caves. The ashen prince spoke as they ran, laying out the plan for their safety “If we run down along the beach a little ways and then turn back into the forest only jumping from stone to stone and root to root we can circle back to the caves and hide in them!”

Running along the shore proved tiring, especially because Vladimir was leading her and Cas where the water would wash away their prints. The wet sand did not resist her paws like the normal earth, but caved in with her weight, leaving small imprints to be washed away. It stuck to Sera’s paws, clinging to her and making her work hard to move through it with the speed that she needed to stay safe. Emerald eyes stole a look behind her at Cas. “Let’s go Castiel! We can’t let those demons catch us!” Thankfully it wasn’t long before the threesome made it to the boulders. Sera leapt up, carefully placing her paws so as not to fall and judging her distances with as much accuracy as possible. One wrong move and it would be the end for her! She landed in the woods not long after Vlad, Castiel only steps behind her. “Quick, help me look for caves!” The pups scurried about, looking all over for a cave. It was the younger prince who found one first. “I found one guys!” The little firebird turned to see the princeling disappear into blackness. “Cas!” She yelped, running over to the large hole, Vladimir close at hand. Seraphina bit her lip in apprehension, but decided that whatever was down there was no where near as bad as a demon. She looked over to her companion, shrugged, and ran after Castiel.

Ever graceful, the princess stumbled on her way in, tumbling towards where she assumed the bruteling was. Sera didn’t like the dark. Not one bit, but she didn’t say anything. The princess wasn’t a wimp, after all. She took a few careful steps, willing her eyes to adjust to the inky blackness. Drips of water could be heard, echoing in the cavern. The ethiopianess gulped, tentatively walking further into the cave. “Castiel? Vladimir?” She called out for her playmates, hoping one, if not both were nearby. They needed to stick together. Sera’s ears flattened to her head, eyes wide as she ventured deeper, waiting for a reply. This wasn’t a place she wanted to be alone.
