The woods had always been comforting to him. Unlike some, the sense of claustrophobia that he got from being within the dense trees made him feel secure, even safe. And in these times it seemed as though safety was hard to come by. He had to move dens nearly every night in order to avoid the strange beasts that seemed to emerge from the shadows themselves, and he certainly couldn't travel or explore at night, either. The winter had been rough as well and it seemed like a rather harsh time for loners. He hoped that the friend he had made, Koi, had done alright. He felt badly that he had been absent from her, but it seemed as though he was being tugged in an enormous amount of directions.

And so Senketsu had decided on sniffing her out, and it seemed that she had been here rather recently. If luck would be kind to him today, hopefully he would be able to find her. His emotions seemed to be all twisted and gnarled like the roots of the trees he was walking near, but he knew at least that they were friends. Perhaps he liked her more than that, but his own reservations kept him from doing much about it. At least he knew that he wanted to spend time with her again. Nose to the ground and focused on finding her, he hardly realized how late it was getting, and before long, the dying sunlight was trickling through the trees.

His head raised and slight panic set in. She was close, he could smell it, he needed to find her and get somewhere relatively safe before night set in. He picked up his pace, trotting briskly through the dense woods, crimson eyes searching for that lovely patchwork pelt of hers. Before long he caught a flash of white and black and orange-y brown through the trees, and he hurried towards her. The light was quickly fleeing from the forest. "Koi, mōichido aimashou. Fuzai no tame ni mōshiwake arimasen." Senketsu said as he approached, crimson eyes glittering with both the happiness of seeing her and the trepidation that came with night.

"Anata wa yoru ni ugoku kemono o mita koto ga arimasu ka? Watashitachi wa anzen'na basho o mitsukenakereba narimasen..." He did not want to worry her, but he also did not want to put her in danger.
