Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The Wind blows on my fur, finishing drying the last bit of my fur to finally get rid of that awful mud. It’s been quite a while before I found water and bathed in the river. The sun finally emphasized the perfection of my long and pure white fur. An epic scene was composed as I walked through the grassy fields. Imagine the view from a lower point, looking up at the clear sky with a few stray clouds in the background and a golden halo around my shoulder as I stood away from the sun. Now keep that image in mind and that. THAT is me! Krypto. The adventurer. Not the stray loner. No.

With that task finally done, now I needed to go find something to eat and quickly, cause I am starving. I tried a few times to get a rabbit on the way to the river, but that thing was so fast! And so… Cunning? Learning how to hunt had never been so crucial to me before. Having been in a pack and no need to do it myself. And in my position I couldn’t learn, the highest hierarchy in the pack never allowed the omegas to fight or hunt.

A little further away I spot a small fox running after a rabbit. The same one I was chasing. The damn thing was following me around? Now get what you deserve!

It is indeed what happened as the fox jumps on it and gets it. My eyes scan the scene, trying to learn it’s moves. I would certainly try that. Much like when I played with the other pups in the pack. Perhaps with some practice everything would be better. But there is no time to waste. This is a great opportunity. I pad all the way to the fox, who took it’s time biting a few chunks of it’s food before I finally arrived, barking loud at it and growling deeply to scare the fox away.

It tried to drag the rabbit with it, but soon gave up, running away quickly as the prey was a little too heavy for him to carry away. Hah!!

With a big wag of my tail and a smile of victory I lay down on the grass next to the rabbit and eat. I don’t remember eating something so amazingly tasty. Now that felt good. Behold!! My first victory!!
