Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

There is a watchfulness in Thor that stems from experience. Blackthorne had become well versed in peeling back layers of an individual to see what made them tick. Who they loved, what the fought for, what was their purpose, but he never cared much for backstory. He felt for a moment that such a thing was an oversight. Knowledge, he was quickly learning, was a powerful advantage and if there is one thing that he wishes to consolidate more than the strong around him, it is power. It is why he does not charge this male, does not seek to chase him off or dissuade him from his purpose. He does not like the way Thor has claimed him as an apprentice, not truly, but there are things he could learn. There is a usefulness in some wolves - Underidge had managed to teach him that at least. In the end all that mattered was strength and usefulness.

Despite his superior attitude, he was not well known around Glorall. This was Eden's pack and despite the aggressive nature of Thorne, he was well aware that interference of his sort might lead to various troubles he was not equipped to handle. Yet. So he took his pleasures outside of Glorall upon the unsuspecting and the weak. His experiments in the weak and strong had begun to graduate from weak rabbits to stronger prey and, in time, perhaps his own kind. His father said the weak must die but he wondered.. could not the weak manifest into something greater? Could not the infirm become better than the hale? It was all well and good for him to think such since he was whole and mighty.

It is not wonder Thor did not know of Underidge. Many did not. His family was reclusive and his father a freaking maniac. There would come a day that neither could abide the others presence here but there was much to occupy Thorne's attention for now, easing tensions. Thor responds to his question and statement and his eyes glitter for a moment, a thoughtful look burgeoning across his sly face. "I can save my own life," he finally says diffidently but his pacing as come to a halt for he is somewhat intrigued now. "But what perspective do you deign to teach me, oh master?" The last is said on a hiss of sarcasm.

Yet the moment Thor admits his background there is a calculating look to Blackthorne. He hadn't heard of them and he realizes, quite suddenly, at just how much information he lacks. Thor had to be a survivor to have lived alone for so long as he didn't appear too old. But Thor ends his statement with a decision and the flattening of Thorne's ears expresses his displeasure at another telling HIM what he was. "I will hear you out, but it is up to me what I am," he growls low and slowly, clearly not appeased.

He sits now, slowly, with poignant grace but never takes his eyes off his quarry. "What is there in the beyond?"
