As I approach, I catch the pointed look that Matianak sends my way, the brow between my eyes furrowing a bit in confusion. Had I offended her in some way? I wasn't sure but it made me a bit uneasy. I did not like others being angry at me. Not that anyone had truly been angry at me before - even my parents had never had a reason to be cross with me that I recall. Whatever it is, I'll get to root of it and assure the female that I meant no disrespect, if I had done something to upset her. So I meander up to my nephew, noting his own cautious look with a bright grin of my own, tail wagging as I subject him to my ministrations with glee. His embarrassment fair vibrates in the air and I feel only a moment of pity but then I giggle gleefully. With him, I was a pup again, playful and mischievous.
It seems the other female is not as prone to smiles and relaxation as I am for when I turn to her, she just gives me a measuring look. My smile does not dim though because I am certain with enough of it, she will return one to me, and clearly Triton is a bit smitten. Not surprising as the poor boy had yet to get out and learn much of the world. I resolve there to take him with me to Asteraia soon to meet his cousins, the very ones I had never truly spent time with, and I think it is time to educate him on our family a bit. The importance of keeping together.
Whether she is upset at me, it seems she is interested in Triton and I decide I will stick with them, glancing back at my turtle shell with a small frown before shrugging to myself. It would be there when I returned. They pull ahead of me with him joyfully speaking and I come up on the other side of him after his questions, a small grin on my maw. "Well that wouldn't be fair, would it Triton? A stranger meeting Charlie but not even your aunt? I am heartsore." I pout playfully before wagging my tail so that it smacks the top of his and glancing over at Matinak. "I've seen you around a bit, Matianak, but do not know much about you. Do you have any family here?" The question is genuine and congenial, open to learning about her.
