The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Dandelion was growing bolder and more adventurous by the day. Spirane was a wonderful place to live. All the friends she made to have fun and play with. But today was a good day for seeing how far she could go. It was spring time, so the weather was pretty and everything. It have been a good day's running and walking through the forests and across the crags, and eventually, she found an entrance to the Grotto.

The world around her was still. She didn't know much regarding the weather, except that it snowed in the winter. Her tail waved back and forth, somewhat oblivious to the lack of animal sounds. Her periwinkle eyes seemed to sparkle as she marveled at the network of tunnels and caves that she could not even begin to fathom. The golden blonde girl laughed, the sound echoing as she did. It was a little different sounding than when her voice echoed in the mountains of her pack.

With that fascinating thought, she padded forward, making various woofs and barks to see how the sound reverberated through the rocky caverns. She took care to remain where there was enough light, knowing it was possible to get lost. But it was an adventure for a new day. It was just a shame that Dandelion didn't have anyone to share it with.
