live life to the fullest

Her body quivered as she snatched up mouthfuls of the grass, not wanting to risk savoring it too much lest something come to chase her away before she got her fill. She needed to build up some strength for traveling if she was going to do this much longer. She refused to just keel over and die. Her tail swished at her flanks in her frustration at the desperate situation she found herself in. She would probably go on resenting her decision to leave her parents for years to come but maybe she could still make something out of this. She had to hope so, anyway. And then as if in answer to her prayers, she noticed movement to the side and her head snapped up. Her nostrils flared and she snorted in dismay, the flight response already kicking in as her tail went up and her legs quivered, ready to run. She didn't know how far she'd make it in her malnourished, exhausted condition, but she refused to just freeze up and get attacked, either.

The last thing she expected to see though was another horse. It was a mare and she saw Creed not long after Creed noticed her. The mare paused, seeming to study her for a moment before she nickered to announce her presence. Creed's ears strained forward, drinking in the feminine voice as she snorted again, nervous of the situation. Her muscles spasmed as she fought within herself. So far, the other mare only seemed curious of her presence here, not hostile. She didn't look like she was about to pin her ears and chase Creed out of here, but at this point, she was scared to get her hopes up. The mare smiled as she moved closer and after some hestiation, Creed tugged her own lips back in kind. Her tail swished at her flanks and she stomped the ground restlessly. The mare stopped before getting too close, for which Creed was thankful. A part of her wanted to know more about this mare. Surely she would know where exactly she was and would maybe have an answer for Creed to find some place to stay.

But the mentally exhausted part of her that hadn't gotten a good night's sleep in days only thought of survival and fleeing any questionable situation. Could she trust that the mare would stay friendly? The mare spoke, greeting her and asking what brought her here. She called this place the Commons. Creed looked around as if seeing it for the first time, snorting once more before she set her gaze back on the other female. "I wandered here. I've been doing a lot of that lately." Her lips twitched in the shadow of a smirk at her own hint of humor but she sobered right back up. "The Commons? Is that what this place is? Is it safe?" Maybe the mare would be kind enough to tell her what to watch out for around here or if she needed to just move on, anyway. Creed glanced back down at the grass at her hooves. She was loathe to leave any of it behind when she could already feel it feeding strength back into her bones after days of hardly finding anything.
