safe from being real.

Days were longer now. Spring had come upon them and gone, from the roots of winter. It was okay. Dresden couldn’t find herself complaining, though she rarely complained of much. It was more work to complain than to actually get off her ass and do something about it. If it was too sunny she’d go find some shade. If it was too damp in the shade she’d find herself some sun. It was easy for the mare to keep to herself, ignoring the calls of pretentious mares back and forth in the trees. She supposed that there was little other way to meet the women, but she couldn’t stand it when they yelled.

It appeared that the amster of the house wanted a tea party, and a tea party he would get. The sable creature made her way from the shadows, her eyes dark. There was always something slightly stormy beneath the indifference that Dresden so carefully kept up. She wasn’t necessarily sour, just… dark. The creature moved with the storms and came out when it was generally darker out. She couldn’t help it. Everyone else was up when it was light out, and sometimes that was far too much to deal with. No, Dresden would be there, just not there. Then again, that made perfect sense only to the creature herself so… yeah.

The red man shone slightly in the sunlight, and Dresden shook her head. There was a low snort in her throat, enough to announce the fact that she was there, that she was coming in to their little circle. From nowhere, it seemed, the champagne mare made an appearance. Everything about her presence was carefully indifferent—wouldn’t want to go pissing anyone off. It was the tail end of an odd ramble she caught, a mare that was standing there running her mouth away. Well, then. Beside a filly that stood quietly, the walking disaster pulled up. “Vercingatorix.” The greeting is simple, tone even with all the thought that came to keep it there. Her tail twitched lazily. Nothing new, today.

mare. mature. sable champagne. walking disaster.
