He'd only been here a short time but already he was starting to settle in. Sure, he knew he couldn't just hang out in the meadow forever. It wasn't a herd territory and he wasn't used to the wandering lifestyle. He could probably make it if he tried but he craved socialization sometimes. He knew he wouldn't be leading a herd any time soon and after that sharp betrayal that still pinched his skin, he didn't want to even try. Maybe it was best to just stay out of politics and stop being so ambitious. It was in his blood to protect others and fight for what's right but he didn't have to lead to do that.

He was in a strange new land now and could start fresh. No one here knew him or his background. They didn't know what brought him here. His past could stay just where it was...in the past. And that's where it belonged. Snorting and stomping the ground as if to finalize that decision, Collision shook out his mane where flies were trying to gather and started looking for a good place to roll. Dust was always a good repellant. Too bad it hadn't rained here or he could have a good mud bath. That would be sure to drive them away.

As he was searching for a good dirt spot, he saw the pretty grullo paint mare. Pausing so he didn't spook her, he lifted his head, his nostrils flaring as he tasted the air. Deciding to try his luck as she didn't seem too hostile, he tossed his head and let out a friendly nicker, asking if he could approach. He was always a gentleman at heart and would never hesitate to ask permission, after all.
