i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

To all residents and visitors of the Prairie:
A strong storm is passing over the Prairie with little warning as what appears to be a normal thunderstorm proves to be much more. Intense wind and a brief shower of ping-pong ball-sized hail will put residents at risk of injury, especially fresh spring foals and those unable to find shelter. Immediately following the hail, residents who do not evacuate the area will see a tornado develop and travel across the land. Anyone caught in the tornado itself is unlikely to survive, and the devastation left in its path will scar the Prairie for the rest of the year and beyond.

This threat will pass in a week's time, on February 8th.

RULES
1) In order to gain experience from this event, reply to this post and have your character interact with the event in some way. Only the first 5 eligible horses to respond win experience.
2) No post comings are allowed until after all possible experience has been earned, and each post must be at least 200 words to qualify.
3) There are 5 possible experience points to win: 1 for each character. Only one character per player may win a point, so if a player has 2 eligible characters respond, they must specify which of their characters they wish to receive experience. Only mature characters (age 2+) may win experience.
4) All eligible characters must respond to this post within a week in order to earn experience.
5) Other characters may join in even if even they cannot earn any experience, and the thread may continue even after a week has passed, or spill out into other threads.
6) This post will be updated as each experience point is given out. Points will be tallied under 'additional' on the battle tracker and added to the battle experience board as soon as possible.
