Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

He simply watched; he simply watched as the others dove about and ducked for their prey. But why? Simple, really. Though he was tempted to fill his aching gut, he resisted if only to keep his distance from her - from his unknowing daughter. He'd simply wished to watch her, to understand that she was alive and as she took her prey as the others did, he was comforted by that at least. She survived and thus, surely it meant both Brooke and Tenshi survived too - but why keep away? Why hide away in the shade alone? He did not wish to intrude upon her life once again; he'd done so when he took Brooke as a mate. For four years Malina had been raised without a true father - even though Amorak had been there, she'd never known who he was. Why did he want to bring that upon her again? She was healthy, obviously happy and she had duty and purpose in her life; his reintroduction would just throw that into upheaval again. Besides, Brooke hadn't had him around for so long - surely Malina and Tenshi had taken on the role of protecting her. Yes, it'd just be better if he stayed away.

Besides, watching the others yip and rush about was entertaining in itself and he found himself marked with a broad grin, a light chuckle breaking his silence from time to time. It seemed things were changing for the better; none of those below seemed to be burdened and weighed down by the past. It was refreshing and he felt his heart flutter joyfully at the thought that perhaps one day he, too, could be like that. Maybe one day would come when he could rejoin life as the same wolf he had once been, huh? He could hope, and hope he did.

For now, though, he was resigned to simply laying coiled up beneath the shade of the hill side beneath a rather weak attempt at a tree. Still, he lay in wait for the day he could rejoin those below, his mismatched gaze watching out and head rested atop his outstretched paws. The scene below was proof enough that, sometimes, great joy could come from the end of things.
