During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Each time Aindreas glanced at the fae, her eyes were locked upon his, a smile plastered on her face. How strange that she could not stop staring at his electric blue orbs if they so vexed her. Still, he had to give her a bit of respect for trying to hide her discomfort beneath a smile. She was trying to hide her dislike under a façade of politeness. Aindreas took no offense though – he only felt bad for upsetting the fae so much. His audettes pricked as a sigh emitted itself from the fae’s maw, but he wasn’t surprised that she had cut it short. This fae clearly was a courteous one. Though she had sighed clearly from her impatience to get away from him and to be either accepted or denied entrance to the pack by Serris, she had tried to hide it from Aindreas. Though he was not an emotionless lupine, he was usually stoic about said feelings. Emotions got in the way of being the perfect warrior. Still, he felt incredibly awful about how uncomfortable he was making the fae feel. Truth be told, Aindreas had no idea about how to deal with faes, having no experience with them. Well, almost no experience.

There had been his mother, who had died and left him alone. And then there had been his adoptive mother, who had dropped him off at Munashii Gekko with promises of being a real family and then she had disappeared. And then there had been the princess of Munashii Gekko, Kobato. She had been the first to greet him at the boundary, and he had been overcome with a brief amount of nervousness. He had been uncomfortable in her presence at first, but now he viewed her as one would view their little sister. Each day with Kobato, he felt more comfortable around her – she was helping him regain his vocals by forcing him to speak with her. It was the only way to remove the scratches and stutters from his speech.

As the fae’s gaze traveled southward to her own paws, a sigh escaped from his own kissers. He wished that Serris would arrive already and either accept or deny her entrance so that he could leave her presence and stop offending her. He changed the subject then, in the hopes of taking her mind off of his offensive sight.

As Aindreas spoke about pack life, the fae merely nodded. She raised both her cranium and her gaze to focus once more on the brute and planted a smile on her maw, although the smile did not reach her emeralds. The brute, though he respected her for trying to save his feelings by being polite, was glad to see that she was a bad liar. Good liars were not to be trusted; they were dangerous. Excellent liars could be deathly. As she blinked furiously after he asked about what she was smelling upon the breeze, the fae clearly become uncomfortable. I believe that I smell the scent of my brother, but I cannot be entirely sure. Aindreas felt his curiosity peaked by this new development, but remained stoic. The fae clearly did not like him or enjoy his presence, so he would not press her for more information, especially because her vocals had failed toward the end of her words, signaling that she was not keen on talking about it. Still, his icy gaze did not miss the tears that lined the inside of her lids.

Aindreas was surprised by her next set of words however. While I wait, I would love the pleasure of your company, Aindreas. Perhaps she knew that he would not leave her alone at the boundary. No loyal or good warrior would leave a stranger at the border of his lord’s pack unattended. Still, he played along with her faked politeness and dipped his head in acquiescence. “Of course.” His words were delivered with a smile, which he made sure didn’t reach his eyes. He didn’t want Genisys to think that he was an idiot – he knew that she was being polite just for his benefit. As he sat, she smiled, this one actually affecting her eyes – her first act that truly confused the brute. Why would she be happy about him actually remaining with her? What anterior motive did she have?

Before he could think about it, the fae spoke again, her words confusing him further, almost as if she had read his mind. What are you thinking about? The brute tilted his head and gazed at the fae intensely, trying to read her. It was not often that a lupine managed to confuse him in such a way, and it greatly irked him. The fae’s speech continued, and Aindreas just held his severe gaze. I think that you have a lot on your mind, Aindreas. What how should he respond? True to form, Aindreas answered as one who had been alone for years would be expected to answer. In an unsocial manner. “Though thoughts do lay upon my mind, my thoughts are my own.” The whole time, his gaze remained upon her, trying to figure out the fae. Could he have been wrong originally about her intentions? Why, indeed, would she be glad about his continued presence if he was so offensive to her?
