The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

The last thud from the stairs jolted the brute fully awake. He swiveled his cranium around in search of the sound of Athene’s voice. From the darkness, what he could see of her pelt, when she was around, was that it was a creamy off-white with darker stripes running down her back, either black or gray since he couldn’t clearly distinguish the real color of her fur. Her name even seemed to hold a cream as well. Her voice rose into his left aud, sending him backward in startlement. He turned and smiled, eager to see that she was well. He scented the dank air, and tasted blood on the air. Asking if it was hers, she replied a no. She had concluded his assumptions about her falling through the wall on the side of the cave wall. How could something be so unstable in a place that should have collapsed a long time ago? Zev headed down into the cavern, leading the way as the headed toward an opening in the wall with a small draft drifting from the darkness. Asking if they were to go this way, the vixen replied only with the sound of her paws trotting on the rock underfoot.

The brute noticed now that there was a small amount of light floating into the cave. He tilted his head, examining the fae’s pelt as she winked at him and passed him down the corridor. She indeed had black streaks down her back that provided a nice contrast with the cream of her pelt. He dismissed the thought and started to follow Athene down the small entryway. He didn’t go very far until he had to pull his ears back to keep them from touching the rock above head. He blinked, and started to duck, but soon, the whole cavern ceiling started to dip. He could see the fae in front of him several lengths, crawling on her stomach to fit. The titian sighed, heaving himself to the ground even before the rock was at its lowest. He found it hard to go through this corridor, his lower back aching will effort as he contorted into a small being. He hit his head on the concrete above him and a growl escaped his clutches. He moved forward after her until it started to lift.

And with the lift of the tunnel, came a wet substance underneath his pads. It molded around his foot probable to leave moss caked around and inside the length of his foot. Wonderful. He raised himself to his full height, stretching and cracking his back from the tight fit. He unsheathed his claws and gripped them in the wet cloth and looked through the dim light. The cavern was slanted towards the middle, little rocks rolling down to a pile. Zev looked up, and above him, there was a small hole in the rock ceiling a little bit to the left of where he and Athene were standing. “That must be where the light is coming from.” He looked around once more, and noticed that the light around them was now lighter than it was through the tight tunnel. He padded forward, down the rocky hill towards the center. Once he got into the middle, he lowered his cranium and inhaled the rock at his feet. It smelled burnt, like the remains of a fire. “There is ash down here. I wonder why when this place is underground.” He began to trot to the other side of the clearing, and found smaller bits of ash scattered around there too.

“Over here, as well. Maybe there was a fire down here. The hole above us could have provided air for it, but I am not entirely sure if that hole would provide enough air for a fire to live and thrive. And, there is nothing down here to burn or anything that would remain.” Zev trotted over to the wall, wondering if there would be another tunnel to venture down. There was nothing, driving the dark titian to circle the entire clearing. He got back to the fae before he reported his sightings. “This must be a dead end. I wonder why...Anyway, come down here so you can see the ash as well.” The brute led the vixen down towards the middle of the cavern, and showed her the ash that a hidden fire left. A drop landed on the brute’s nose, splashing little droplets into his eyes. He looked up, expecting to see something dripping he didn’t see before. Instead, there was water coming through the top of the rock ceiling. “Wonderful, it’s raining.” At first the brute didn’t think anything about it, but then some dirt and gravel started to leak from the ground above. He was startled, knowing that it was about to fall on top of them. “Athene, move!”

The brute half pushed, half sent the girl flying up the slanted ground. The rocks fell down to the precise area the two were standing. Rain was starting to pour down through the now bigger hole above them, and within seconds, Zev was completely soaked. Water had started to pool down into the center part of the cavern, sending water up and up and up. Then, the outcome dawned on him. “Athene! It’s going to flood!”
