Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Renegade flicked an ear. He wasn't quite sure of what to make of this situation, not yet at least. He was becoming more and more sure that the brute in front of him was indeed Never though. The tri-colored male didn't want to jump to conclusions or anything, but all the evidence pointed to that outcome. After all it wasn't as if the thought filled him with disgust, more confusion than anything. And it brought up memories he'd rather not think about. "Figured she might come by 'ere." Renegade said with a shrug of his shoulders, though his crimson eyes remained focused on the ghostly wolf in front of him. The sentence seemed a bit distracted though, as his mind kept trying to decipher his feelings towards this situation.

However it appeared that he wouldn't have to mull over the answer too long, as the male he now knew as Istas divulged the information. His tail gave a flick but that was the only reaction he seemed to give. He liked Never, but he also found a strange tug towards Istas too. He couldn't help but think it was because the white wolf reminded him of someone else, someone from his past and the sole reason he had ended up in these lands to begin with. He cracked another toothy grin, somewhat of a signature of his, and his tail gave a few wags. "Well, yer a pretty good spy in any case. Thought I had ya figured out, but apparently not." Renegade said, raising an eyebrow.

His crimson eyes narrowed slightly, however, as he noticed how nervous Istas was being. You didn't have to be as sharp as the brute in order to notice that the other was acting quite strange. Renegade thought he knew why, though, had it been another male he was sure that they would have been pretty pissed. But he wasn't. He was just curious.

"Why y' acting all skittish-like? I'm not gonna bite ya or anythin'." he said with a small chuckle, his crimson eyes not betraying much of what he was thinking, but they weren't angry or upset either. He found himself remembering how close they had gotten, and how it had been the first time he had gotten that close to another since... Well. He knew he would have to face what happened eventually, the event that drove him out of his old home and basically destroyed the life that he used to know. He laughed as Istas said that he had come to check on him, well that was quite an amusing thought.

"Istas..." he began, a bit uncertain, but his voice sounded confident all the same. "I know ya were undercover when we met. We got... pretty close, and I was wonderin' if that was..." he paused, trying to find the right way to put it. "For real, or if it was jus' part of bein' Never." He finished, his gaze never faltering from Istas, though it was a little hard to maintain eye contact when he was talking about such things. A little awkward perhaps, but it was a question he needed to know the answer too, even if it was a little obvious by the way Istas was acting towards him.
