Perhaps there is more to silence than we know, the thick way it grabs those around it and dampens their tongues so that it reigns supreme. It is always there, slipping in at a moments notice just to be shattered by the next. The quick motion of his head causes her to blink at him, the smile he gives letting her know that he is quite alright or what she assumes. The next action she follows intently as his paw rises and taps at his muzzle, his head shaking no. Confusion settles on her face, a slight wrinkle between her brows and then it hits her.
For a moment she is silent too, she had heard of mutes before but never met one. To lack a voice was a sad thing; to never sing to the grinning moon. She isn't sure how to respond, until she realizes he probably does not want her pity and so she merely shrugs slightly, a smile on her lips as a teasing rasp slips.
"Yes, your nose?" There is a small sound; almost inaudible but it is the closest she has come to a laugh.
"You cannot speak." The rasp in her statement lets him know she understood. A small smile to her lips as her tail gives a stronger wave around her leg.
Now she watches him for different purpose, for body language sometimes is so much louder than a voice. He points again to his mouth, his lips forming a word she will never hear. Cautiously she rises as if not to spook him, stepping forward until they are almost nose to nose. Her body showing no signs of threat as curiosity burns in those flaming eyes. Slowly do her eyes lower to his mouth as she whispers due to their closeness.
"Again." The command is there though it is not firm but soft, she wants to try and discover what he seeks to say and if his name is that unheard word of his lips.
