Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

this is her in blackouts

Daenery's had been impressed with Natu's skill. She had said as much yet Natu had felt the swiftly fading pang of joy when she had seen the distraught look in her friend's eyes. Ailith was a clever woman. She was just as capable of deception as Natu had been and that glimpse of pain had lasted for only a brief second but Natu was perceptive. Her pale blue eyes had widened in surprise at that look, a look she knew all too well for it had been one that had adorned her own graceful features for an awfully long time. Her friend had been quick to excuse herself; instinctively Natu had stepped forward in pursuit but refrained for a few moments to converse with Daenery's. She had managed to secure her position as Spider, one she had coveted for a long while now and would bear with pride, yet she wondered if the price for such a position was steep. Would Ailith abandon their friendship from such?

The moment her Queen had stepped away Natu had bolted for the border. She was still covered in the caked on marsh mud and stunk to high heaven, though with the wind pushing against her nares she couldn't smell it. Those left in her wake, however, would have quite a stench to contend with. Running and wandering - they were two things Natu was very good at. Her life had been spent doing both so her body was accustomed to stretching to it's limits, her spine bowing inward and legs coming together in rhythmic strokes hard against the packed earth. Claws ripped dirt and grass in clumps, tell tale signs of her pursuit, and her ears lay back as she raced the wind.

She comes upon her alabaster friend at the side of the river. If a stranger looked upon them they might be struck by the similarities of the two wolves; blue eyes and angel white fur. Yet Ailith had always been larger than Natu and their personalities were both alike and different. To see the tear marks that cascade down Ailith's soft fur creates a pounding in Natu's heart. Had she brought her friend to this?

Natu's pace has of course fallen into a walk and she stops a few feet away from Ailith, sinking slowly to her belly and pressing her head into her paws with a gentle whine. "I am sorry, Ailith. I knew none else that would have fit the role Daenery's wanted me to fill. You are the one who knows me the most and I am sorry for breaking your trust." How could she know that the darkness in Ailith was the same loneliness that had long been snug in her own chest? Only recently had it been vanquished. She believes this to be her fault. She pulls her body forward across the ground, her bottom half scraping across the earth, until she is another foot closer.

"Do not cry so, friend. I am truly sorry."
