Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Jinan was getting a little more bold at last. He knew it was time they day spent with the golden female playing in Taviora had given him a little bit of confidence when meeting with new wolves. He was trying to fit in, being deaf made it hard sometimes, some didn’t understand that he relied on smell, sight and touch alone to communicate. His sister managed though, and so couldn’t he. She encouraged him to go on this venture today. Tuari had been teaching him to hunt since he was under a year old. He had a natural knack for it as well. Something that his family just seemed to have inherited naturally all around. His father had been a successful loner for most of his life after all and his mother was once the True Arrow before she vanished. Now he was going with the wolf that wanted to take her place, or so he gathered. No one could replace his mom, at least that was what he thought, but he wasn’t going to apply it to her rank though. The rank needed filled and someone wanted it. She wasn’t here he couldn’t be upset about it in fact he figured it would be a good time to learn how to hunt even better.

He couldn’t hear the call of the female leading the hunt of course. Instead he already was displaying his ability to follow scents and track those down that he needed. Tuari started him on the path seeing him off with a smile on her maw before turning back in the lands and trusting him to make it the rest of the way. So far it seemed he was alone on this trail, following the scent of the wolfess out of the pack and into the freelands. He had only been out here when his parents were still around… the first time was with his father on his very first hunting lesson. He didn’t do good but subsequent ones had helped him by leaps and bounds and he learned to depend on his eyes and nose and often was the first to spot his quarry between the trees and wait. That was the bonus to losing one sense the others made up for it.

He stopped when he spotted the deer through the trees and a little to his left the white form of a wolfess and another large wolf, male by his size and scent holding himself low to the ground. The black and brown pelted boy snuck his way around to them, silent. He couldn’t really speak anyway. Some grunts, whines and barks and if he really tried maybe a word, but he was taught not to make a single noise why he hunted. Tuari made sure of that over his earlier lessons. While he couldn’t hear the noise of the leaves blowing in the wind he was aware those feelings in his throat brought upon something that made others look at him, even if he fully didn’t understand what that exactly was.

He waited then not sure if this would be the entire group or if more would come. He was nervous and confident at the same time, he never met either of these wolves but they were his pack and that made him feel better than if they were full strangers of another land. Jinan could only wait now, green eyes set on their prey ready for his first real pack hunt to begin.
