She had never been quite right after the birth of her pups. She was close to death after they arrived- she swore death itself had whispered in her ear and kissed her upon the forehead. Yet she had awoken after the experience. She woke but she was not quite the same. She was weak ever since. She was already thin and tall, but she never quite got back to normal with her weight. Things simply were not right since she had them...yet she survived and endured. She raised them, but she was quite much of the time, telling them stories in but a whisper from time to time. Underidge took much of the parenting role in that he taught them of the Shade, taught them how to live and be strong.
He had taught them and her so many things. She had learned so much over the years but she never felt completely right. She had that...odd encounter with that male wolf. Ever since her brush with death after birthing the pups, it bothered her more and more. She did not know why, and she could never ask anyone about it either. It was something no one would know. It haunted her dreams for many nights. His eyes, his voice. It was like a ghost.
She had worsened the past two days. Her body become hot. She was thirsty all the time, and weakened. Sickness had come upon her. It made her weary, and made the world a bit of a haze. She slept in her den, with Umbra close by. It was early in the morning, the sun barely breaking the surface of the earth. She slept, and in her dream her nightmares of the unknown wolf replayed in her head. This time though...this time it was different. In her weakened daze, she felt a realization. Atlas. His name was Atlas. She remembers he was one of the first faces she ever saw. Atlas. Emil. Vega. Achilles. The names came flooding back to her, their faces encompassing her until she felt she would choke. Diveen. She was of Diveen- a Princess. She was Angel. It was not a dream, a fantasy. It was real, and it consumed her until she woke with a thrashing head.
"No!" she called out, rainbow eyes flashing open. She had to go there. She had to find out, to confirm with her own eyes that it was the truth. She roused herself, shaking slightly as she was unsteady upon her legs. Umbra had stirred with such a reaction, but Paravana ignored her as she stumbled out of the den. There was no hesitation. Only a slowness to her movements due to sickness that weighed her down as she simply walked straight towards Diveen. Her ears flickered, barely aware of the fact that Umbra was calling her name, which she ignored as she simply continued on. She had to make it, even though her body protested and demanded that she return to the den and rest. No. She could not. She needed to know, and she needed to know now. The world was a haze, and her movements did not quicken as she heard faded words from Umbra- words she did not understand. She simply carried on to Diveen, traversing with her slow and steady gait. She was unaware that Umbra warned her that she was getting father- and young silvered girl did just that. |
