Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

There was something different about the young wolf that came to the call, something he picked up on rather quickly. While wondering back to Glorall in the four years he was gone, he had come across many different kinds of wolves and yet through it all, he had survived despite his smaller size and inexperience. He was young and foolish when he left Glorall but he had not returned a fool. That was for sure. There were kind wolves and then there were predators. There were even wolves that were almost feral, more keen on killing their own kind than talking. He had learned how to fight through sheer will and the need to live another day. He adapted through instinct and urgency and he had a feeling he was going to need every bit of that with Blackthorne. Though younger and smaller, the wolf's confidence was astounding. He held himself with authority like an alpha yet he held no rank.

Thor would have liked to study him but he would get plenty of time for that while they trained for he was determined that Blackthorne do as Eden wanted for him and learn what he could from Thor. Maybe he would even learn himself a thing or two. He was sure he would definitely learn something from his time with Blackthorne. He didn't know much about Blackthorne but he hoped to make up for that sooner rather than later. He was curious to know of this wolf's lineage. Who were his parents? What were they like? Surely he had to get this attitude from either or both. He wondered if his parents were ranked wolves in Glorall. Perhaps he would ask Eden the next time he saw him but he'd rather just ask Blackthorne. Something told him he needed to do something to gain the wolf's trust first though, or at least some respect. The wolf was hankering for a fight at this stage, something to prove Thor was worth his time.

Thor could play that game though. He had made an ally out of Raziel after all and she could barely communicate. She was one of the feral ones but by neither backing down nor challenging her, he had earned enough of her trust for her to follow him to Glorall. Unfortunately he hadn't seen much of her since. He was almost disappointed in that fact. He wondered if any of Blackthorne's siblings were this way or were they more like the other young wolves, bright eyed and full of hope and dreams. What did Blackthorne dream of? Fame? Infamy? Or was it just gore and bloodshed? He could see that the young wolf had been training himself more than anything. He was fit and well muscled for his youth. He had intelligence glowing in his eyes. He also had scratches and marks all over his body, clues that he was used to fighting for what he wanted. This would probably be no different.

The wolf said that he needed no mentor, his voice threatening but his ear was flicked toward him, still trying to read him. Thor tilted his head.

"Everyone needs a little training from another perspective at some point in their life. Don't make the mistake of waiting till it's too late for that extra little bit of experience. It could save your life."

He met his gaze evenly, both ears pricked toward him, searching his expression for a reaction of some kind. He wanted to be prepared so if the wolf attacked, he would go on the defense and use his own experiences to show Blackthorne that perhaps he could learn something after all. Thor was not a violent wolf by any means but he would fight when necessary. He asked who he was to call himself that and Thor's lips quirked, smirking as his eyes twinkled.

"Thor, son of Fenrir and Natu. Born in Glorall, lost to the wild for 4 years, and now returned."

That should be enough information to start off with. Maybe Blackthorne had heard of his parents or maybe he hadn't. Fenrir was once a legend in his own right and Natu was a household name at one point as well. He would fill him in with more as needed but he had a feeling Blackthorne wasn't asking for his life story so much as a reason he should waste any more of his time. He stood his ground as Blackthorne stepped closer, his gaze and ears never leaving the younger wolf. He wasn't scared but he was ready should this turn violent. He could see the hungry look in the wolf's eyes as he circled him like a vulture swooping over a carcass. His tail gave a gentle lash against his side as he continued to watch him but kept his feet firmly planted. He met his gaze as he circled back in front of him, tilting his head as if amused.

"You are my apprentice, Blackthorne. We have much to learn from each other."

He said it matter of factly, watching carefully to gauge the wolf's reaction.
