Hello, World

O O O

The prairie had grown quiet since Shamwari's leave, so Akello often found himself pondering something to do. His mother spent most of her time with her sister and he didn't want to interrupt so he usually watched them from afar or played with his little brother, Ahimsa. It kept him busy and reminded him just how important family was. He hoped to get to know more of his mother's family on Luthien but so far he found it hard to find them. Either that, or they were just good at avoiding him. He could only hope it wasn't the latter.

Meanwhile, he found himself swimming out to the crossing, wondering who else might be out and about this fall. He was more restless than he remembered being in previous fall seasons, but he paid little attention to it most of the time. There was a distinct smell around some of the females in the prairie, but he was already good at keeping his distance so he just kept his control and continued to do such.

As he swam up on the shores of the falls, the chimera marked stallion shook out his coat and looked around. His nostrils flared, tasting the air. There was a lot of other horses here, but no scents he recognized right off the back. Shaking out his tangled mane, he trotted further inland, following the sounds of the waterfalls. As he got closer to the sound, he heard a sudden squeal and his pace slowed, ears pricking forward in curiosity. His gold brown eyes blinked as he stepped forward and peered through the branches. He could see two fillies, one bay and one chestnut, playing near the water. There seemed to be a difference in age between them, maybe a year or so, but as close as they acted, he would guess they were best friends or even siblings. It made him think of his own siblings back home on Salem and he smiled to himself.

Wondering if he could make new friends, the stallion gave a little toss of his head and walked out of the trees, stopping near the other side of the pool of water as he pricked his ears at them. "Hello, there. I'm Akello." He slowly moved to the water's edge, lowering his head to make it known he was just going to get a drink so they wouldn't think he had any ill intentions toward them. Lowering his muzzle, he drank from the surface before slowly lifting his head to see what they were up to now.
