You're missing the point.
The end of the preamble it reads...
"Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety"
If every person that got sober just walked away, then there would be nobody around to help the new man and woman.
It's not what I can get out of it, it's about helping others.
There is great joy in that, plus I go to meetings where there is a lot of laughter.
